Kogi public school wins 2019 National Mathematics competition

Kogi State LGEA Demonstration Standard Nursery/Primary School, Onyukoko, in  Okene, 

has emerged the overall winner of the 2019 edition of the National Mathematics competition organised by Nigerian/Turkish International College, in collaboration with National Mathematics Centre, Abuja.

The primary school which  emerged  best  produced five out of the seven overall best pupils in the finals of the competition.

The administrative head of the school, Hon. Abdullahi Abdulmalik, who disclosed this Tuesday  while delivering an address to mark the 10th graduation ceremony of the school and speech/prize giving ceremony stated that following the laudable performance of the five pupils, they were each given 100 per cent  scholarship to study at the Nigerian/Turkish College.

He added that the school won a set of computer system, printer, photocopier and a cash award to the school’s mathematics teachers.

While assuring that the school will not relent in its effort to  win more Laurels for the state, the administrative head appealed to government and kind-hearted individuals to assist the school solve some challenges in the areas of well equipped resource centre, perimeter fencing of the school, a well equipped laboratory and library.

In his address, the chairman of the occasion, Senator Yakubu Oseni expressed happiness over the achievements of the school.

The Senator who was represented by Alhaji Taoheed Ozigi, expressed worry that the school was not being given necessary support and encouragement, despite the fame it had brought to Ebiraland and Kogi state in general.

Oseni who represents Kogi Central at the upper chamber of the National Assembly promised to continue to contribute to the development of education in the area.
