Killings: Stop inciting comments against Buhari, group warns Secondus

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has cautioned Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman, Uche Secondus to henceforth desist from making incendiary remarks capable of inciting the people against President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

Reacting to Secondus’s alleged accusation at the PDP rally in Ekiti that killings in the country were the fault of President Buhari, the group said the PDP chairman should be more cautious in his comments.

In a statement signed yesterday in Abuja by the BMO chairman, Austin Braimoh, and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, the group said it viewed the comments of the PDP chairman with grave concern as such inflammatory comments were capable of increasing the tempo of the current security situation in the country.

“For the information of Mr. Secondus and his co-travellers, we need to remind them that under their past administration, Nigeria was under siege and nearly collapsed but for the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration that has already brought the situation under control,” it said.

The group also begged the PDP national chairman that “as we approach the 2019 elections, he should always weigh the implications of his public comments to avoid the possibility of plunging the country into unnecessary crisis. As the chairman of the leading opposition party, he must realise that he owes it a duty to the country to exhibit the highest sense of decorum in his conduct and public utterances.”

Secondus to order so as to sustain the peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
