Keshi insists on Agbim for Brazil 2014

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has insisted on picking goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim for the World Cup Finals in Brazil despite serious opposition.
Agbim was heavily criticised for his performance at the recent CHAN in South Africa.
But despite his blunders, which included letting in a goal against Mozambique from almost 50 metres, Nigeria went on to finish third with Keshi standing firmly behind him.

“Keshi wants Agbim for the World Cup. This would ordinarily not be a problem because he will be the third goalkeeper like always. But in a situation where it has now been reported that second-choice goalkeeper Austin Ejide is injured and suddenly Agbim would be the cover for Enyeama, that could be dangerous in Brazil,” a top source toldAfricanFootball.com.

This is believed to be one of the contentious issues during Tuesday’s meeting between the NFF technical committee and the coach in Abuja.
Agbim’s poor form at CHAN was blamed on lack of match fitness as he only played two league matches for Enugu Rangers last season.
However, this season he has moved to Gombe United and he has been playing regularly.
