Kebbi hunters kill bandit, recover 74 rustled cattle 

 

Members of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service in Kebbi state have succeeded in eliminating one bandit and recovered 74 rustled cattle at JarKuka, Bachaka ward, in Arewa local government area.

The state commander of the wservice, Ambassador Musa Hussaini Rambo, told newsmen in Birnin Kebbi  Wednesday that the hunters engaged the bandits in a gun duel at JarKuka on the border between Sokoto state and the Republic of Niger, leading to the killing of the bandit.

Ambassador Rambo said all the recovered animals have been handed over to the rightful owner. 

The hunters also apprehended one cable thief, Awwalu Musa, who vandalised and removed vital electrical cables at the residence of a former Maiyama local government chairman, Adamu Aliyu Liba, in Birnin Kebbi.

The receiver of the stolen property, Labaran Umar, was arrested alongside the cable vandal, both of whom were handed over to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, by the Commander of the Forest Security Service.
