Kebbi declares interest in industrial, trade cooperation with China 

The Kebbi state government has mandated the Ministries of Agriculture, Solid Minerals, Water Resources, Works and other relevant organs of government, to hold deep rooted discussions with a visiting Chinese delegation for necessary partnership.

Governor Nasir Idris gave the directive at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Monday, while receiving an entourage from China – Africa Economic Trade Promotion Council from Beijing.

Dr. Idris authorised officials of the ministries to take the Chinese delegation round the state, especially to agricultural land and solid mineral sites, for an on the spot assessment prelude to negotiations for cooperation. 

The governor informed his guests that Kebbi state has been endowed with fertile agrarian land for cultivation and large deposits of solid minerals such as gold, lithium, gypsum and host of others for harnessing. 

The Kauran Gwandu affirmed commitment of his administration to provide conducive, enabling environment for rapid industrial growth of the state. 

“I have accepted your invitation to visit China for consolidation on investment. My administration welcomes investors to Kebbi state. I will send a high powered government delegation to China appropriately in furtherance of bringing investment into the state,” he said. 

The leader of the delegation, Mr. Li Zhensheng, informed his host that the Chinese entourage was in Nigeria with a visit to Kebbi state from the China-Africa Economic Trade Promotion Council to solicit for comprehensive cooperation and partnership.
