Pilgrims may pay hajj fare directly into NAHCON account – Chairman 

The chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCOH), Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, has said the commission is looking towards a situation whereby pilgrims will pay their hajj fare directly to the commission’s account.

He stated that the idea of paying the hajj fares directly was aimed at solving problems being witnessed by intending pilgrims.

The chairman stated this Monday ahead of the inaugural Sokoto state airlifts flights scheduled to begin Tuesday in the state.

He said this year’s operation is going to record unprecedented achievements while praying for Allah’s help to achieve hitch- free operation exercise.

Arabi expressed optimism to conclude airlifts of pilgrims before the 2rd June so the pilgrims could fully equip and prepare themselves for proper pilgrimage on 13th to 14th of June.

He commended the Sokoto state government for committing its resources in completing the hajj terminal.

The commission chairman said the federal government. some years back, had come up with a pilot scheme of constructing hajj terminals that will be digitalised.

He said Sokoto state was the first to enjoy that privilege among other states but noted that the construction site was prose.
