Kano ready to partner NGOs on service delivery – Commissioner

Kano state government has expressed its readiness to continue to partner with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in a bid to improve service delivery.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, disclosed this yesterday while receiving family planning equipment worth N8 million donated to the state government by an NGO, Marie Stopes International.

He noted with concern that the equipment would improve the delivery of quality family planning and reproductive health services.

He added that the donation would go along way for the purpose it was given, and commended the organisation for the kind gesture.

Earlier, the Regional Manager, North-west, Marie Stopes, Mr. Leonard Angelo Viashima, said already they had trained 145 service providers from 104 health facilities and 3451 of family planning equipment would be distributed to 104 supported health facilities in the state.
