Kaduna business mogul hails minister on $100bn revenue projection 

A Kaduna based business mogul, Dr. Tobi Bernard Thomas, has applauded the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa over her projection of $100 billion revenue generation from the creative sector by 2030.

Dr. Thomas, who is a hotelier, said that the initiative by the minister, aimed at boosting the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), is a welcome development.

Speaking on Wednesday in Kaduna with some journalists, he said it is high time the nation showcases its creators and culture to the world.

According to the businessman, the creative sector has the capacity to contribute as far as 10 per cent to the nation’s GDP.

Thomas further explained that initiative will definitely add value not only to the creative sector, but also to the development of the country’s economy. “This step will also create an employment opportunity to the teeming population,” he said.

He stated the need for all stakeholders in the creative sector to join hands with the minister whose aim is to ensure that the sector grows in the interest of the nation’s economy.

“There is no doubt that this is a projection of progress, development and prosperity. This is because; the economic plan as explained by the minister is to create millions of jobs. This is commendable.

“On this note, we need to applaud the minister, who is currently on the part of the renewed hope agenda of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and encourage her to do more in her creative manner,” Thomas explained.

While thanking the minister on her efforts towards re-awakening the sector, the he said the stakeholders have always contributed to the nation’s creative economy.
