Few weeks to the first anniversary of his historic inauguration as a member of the 10th national assembly representing the great people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency of Delta state, the dynamic Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has once again seized the bull decisively by the horns by empowering over 90 artisans, small-scale entrepreneurs and transporters engaged in fashion designing, barbing, hairdressing and tricycle transportation with state of the art operational equipment, machines and tools to boost their various businesses.
Hon Nnamdi Ezechi while doling out the empowerment tools which included 10 tricycles, 36 sewing machines, 23 hair driers and 22 barbing kits with compliments of power generating sets at a Youth Empowerment ceremony in Kwale, Delta State on the 25th May, 2024 emphatically stated that it was only the beginning of more goodies to come for his beloved constituents as he is poised to deliver constant and consistent democratic dividends to them in line with his campaign manifesto and avowed legislative agenda.
Indeed, ever since his epochal election into the House of Representatives in early 2023, a kinetic Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has hit the ground running in attracting key infrastructural projects and programs for his zone and has been everywhere and anywhere that matters including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Office, the Federal Ministries of Health, Education, Works, Water Resources, the National Directorate of Education (NDE), countless federal agencies, parastatals and departments in order to deliver good roads, hospitals, primary and secondary schools, water boreholes, 500KVA transformers, and the training of women and youths in various skills acquisition schemes as soon as practicable. In the crucial manpower development arena, an energetic Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has also not been caught napping as he is fastracking the employment of numerous youths and graduates from his constituency in key federal agencies and parastatals as well as military and paramilitary formations e.g. the Army, Navy, Air force, Police, Civil Defence, Customs, Correctional and lmmigration Services etc.
Having a deep and abiding passion for educational attainment and achievement, a benevolent Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has crucially ensured the payment of WAEC, NECO and JAMB registration forms for thousands of pupils and students in his constituency as well as the provision of monetary grants to women, widows, youths, the indigent, the infirm, the physically challenged and other vulnerable members of society. In the law making arena, a proactive Hon Ezechi has sponsored or co-sponsored several motions and bills on the floor of the Green Chamber including the pivotal Bill for the Establishment of a Federal Medical Centre, Kwale in order to cater for the health and medical challenges of his people who do not have access to state of the art health facilities to address those challenges.
The Bill is progressing fast through the legislative chambers in order to bring much needed medical relief to his beloved constituents: ‘The Bill for an Act to Amend the Federal Medical Centre, Kwale (Establishment) Act was singularly sponsored by me because Kwale, is a highly populated metropolis that is dire need of modern medical facilities to cope with the huge health challenges posed by its rapidly expanding population.
During my electioneering campaign, many of the town residents clamoured for the establishment of a modern hospital to take care of their health requirements. And to the glory of God, this Bill has passed second reading today and when it is finally approved, it will bring succour to our people and assuage their yearnings for adequate health care. Kwale is an oil-rich town and the need for a federal medical centre with state of the art facilities is paramount to me as many of the town residents are faced with the health challenges posed by incessant flaring of toxic gas into the atmosphere.
They find it difficult to access good health care; the nearest one, Federal Medical Centre Asaba is quite a distance away and someone in critical condition might not make it before getting there for treatment. The medical facilities available in FMC Asaba or Benin is needed in Kwale where toxic gas flaring is negatively impacting on our people’- Hon Ezechi pointed out.
An action-oriented populist leader, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has also called out the numerous oil and gas companies operating in his constituency for not living up to their corporate social responsibility of providing physical infrastructure and social amenities while they reap huge profits in oil and gas exploration and exploitation activities there.
The only federal presence in my constituency is a federal correctional centre and that is not enough given the vast contributions we make to the nation’s economy as the highest producer of gas in the country. We don’t need prisons, what our people need is tertiary institutions, health institutions, road infrastructure etc and not correctional facilitieWe are the largest producer of gas in the whole of sub-saharan Africa and we cannot boast of a single federal presence apart from a prison calls for concern and our people are not happy at all. We are hosting a power station producing over 960 MW of electricity yet if you go to Ndokwa there is no light. All the three local governments in my constituency hosts oil and gas facilities yet we have no light. For instance in my community, Okpai, the roads are unmotorable and impassable yet it is hosting a gigantic 960MW power facility, AGIP Oil Company, Sterling Global, Pilar, Nextoil, Soros, Midwestern Oil and Gas and other multinational companies that generate billions of naira monthly. But their host communities have no motorable roads, no basic amenities and when the people protest, they are suppressed by the security agencies’ – Hon Nnamdi Ezechi reiterated. Thus a resolute Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has vowed to go the extra mile to ensure that the oil/gas companies are held accountable to their corporate social responsibility to the people not caring whose ox is gored in the process. With his famed penchant for leadership dynamism, credible representation and effective legislative oversight of the MDAs and private oil conglomerates, it comes as little wonder that the purposeful Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has been applauded by constituents, colleagues and political allies alike including the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme who was present at the landmark youth empowerment event in Kwale while hailing the concerted efforts of the result-oriented federal lawmaker in impacting positively on the people’s welfare and well-being of his people in these trying times.
Sir Monday Onyeme noted that Hon Nnamdi Ezechi had, over the past one year, given a loud voice to the people of Ndokwa nation in the Green Chambers, stressing that he had performed beyond expectation and his constituents were proud of him. Indeed Hon Nnamdi Ezechi has performed resoundingly and outstandingly and as the 10th National Assembly is set to mark it’s 1st anniversary of inauguration, it can be stated without fear of contradiction that the renowned political titan, seasoned legislative avatar, corporate mogul and constitutional paragon of no mean pedigree has come, he has seen and he has conquered positively to the Glory of the Almighty God. Better Days Are Here To Come.
