Breaking: Labour strike crumbles government activities, schools shut in Niger

All government activities have been paralysed in Niger state as the Organised Labour embark on indefinite strike over minimum wage.

The state new and old secretariates have been closed as early as 8am on Monday morning while labour leaders monitoring compliance took over the gates of the two secretariats.

Also, a visit to the state House of Assembly showed that the state chapter of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) have locked the gates to the Assembly complex.

Checks by Blueprint also revealed that public schools have also been closed without students or pupils.

NLC compliance teams are seen going round offices enforcing compliance where necessary , however workers are in full compliance in the state.
