Jigawa now 10 years without polio – Perm sec

 

The Jigawa state has clocked 10 consecutive years without the polio virus, as a result of the concerted efforts by the state government under Governor Badaru Abubakar to maintain the status, Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Health, Dr Kabir Ibrahim has disclosed.

Speaking with newsmen in Dutse, Thursday, Dr Kabir explained that the Jigawa state government would deploy vaccines for the protection of meningitis, small fox and drugs for Covid-19 as well as Vitamin A supplement for children.


The permanent secretary therefore solicited the support of journalists in enlightening the general public for the success of the programme.


He noted  that over 124% of Jigawa people had been given vaccine
COVID-19 vaccine with a view to eradicating the virus out of the state, stressing   that only very few percentage of the people  remained to  be covered.
