Islamic sisters donate N500,000 items to Kaduna orphanage

An Islamic group, Sisters of Jannah, Kaduna zone on Friday visited Kaduna-based Al-Ihsan Balsuma Chairity organising to donate food items, clothing materials, toiletries and essential drugs to the orphanage.

Receiving the items at the organisation’s home located at Matawalle Road, Sabon Garin Nassarawa, Kaduna South local government area of the state, Home Director, Firdausi Muhammad Yusuf, said the gesture by SOJ showed “there is hope for vulnerable children in Nigerian society.”

She said: “This orphanage home was established some 36 years ago by my mother of blessed memory and it has touched many lives. We have about five categories of children here; the abandoned, vulnerable, rejected, orphan and half orphan. We rely on Almighty Allah and donations from organisations and well-meaning individuals as God puts it in their heart to support us.

“In fact, we have some people coming around to pick just a child and be responsible for his or her upkeep including education, medical and feeding though such children are still with us here. So, on behalf of the orphanage and these wonderful children, I want to thank SOJ for donating these items to us. May the Almighty Allah bless everyone that has made this possible. We are grateful to you all.”

Coordinator SOJ Kaduna zone Hajiya Rukayat Olaitan Bello said the association was only doing what Almighty Allah commanded through which they could seek forgiveness from God for their shortcomings at such a time as this.

“We know that there are other organisations that do bring food and other items to them. So, we are just privileged to bring these items which include food, clothing, toiletries and essential drugs valued at about N500, 000 here. Coincidentally, this is election time and they need these things,” she said.
