Insecurity: We’re taking inventory of kano forests-Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has said that his administration is poised to take steps aimed at determining the present inventory in Falgore and Dansoshe forests in Kano state as a measure to tackle issue of insecurity in the state.

Speaking at a one day security awareness summit  held  Kano Monday, Ganduje stated that taking the authentic inventory of the forests have become necessary in view of the need to  authenticate those domiciling in the forests and what they were doing in them adding that the war against insecurity cannot be feasible without a resolute and a holistic approach.

According to him, it was a common knowledge that agents of criminal banditry were known to play hide and seek after unleashing terror on innocent people ranging from cattle rustling and the abduction of people for  a huge ransom  to be given to them affirming that  his administration had in the recent time took proactive measures to ensure that  Falgore and other forests in Kano State were made safe and secured.

He pointed out that the essence of convening the security awareness summit was aimed at reminding the traditional rulers in the area the importance of creating synergy between them and other relevant security agencies.

He said his administration had placed high premium on the issue of security as it affects the well-being of the people of Kano state and that a lot of resources had been expended for greater and sustainable result to be achieved stressing that security agencies operating in the state  had been operating hands in gloves with his government.

He however stated that for the famous Falgore and other forests in Kano to be more secured at present, he had been in contact with the relevant security agencies,to strictly enforce  the ban imposed on users of motorcycles in the forests  affirming that  security operatives are ever ready to discern on any motorcyclist who flouted the ban with impunity.
