Insecurity giving me sleepness night – Emir

Emir of Birnin Gwari, His Highness, Alhaji Jibrin Mai Gwari II has expressed worry over the increasing insecurity and cases of kidnapping and banditry which has almost taken over his domain.
This, the monarch said, is giving him sleepiness night and serious sense of concern.
He said: “I can assure you that Governor Nasiru El-Rufai is doing his best to address the situation, especially the Commander of Operation Yaki in Kaduna state.

Yakubu Soja who on many occasions used to lead the operations personally to rid Birnin Gwari of these criminals but, my area is still under siege.
People are being kidnapped or killed and this has virtually curtailed the movement of people in the area.
Even farming activities is no longer feasible because of Security Threat”.
Alhaji Jibril Mai Gwari who was a former commissioner in old Kaduna state, and, was appointed later, as Emir of Birnin Gwari to succeed his Late Father, when he was already the General Manager of the Kaduna Famous PAN Automobile Company.
Since then, he has been on the saddle of Birnin Gwari as its ruler.
Speaking to our correspondent after his return from Blueprint’s recent series and impacts awards, he said that the insecurity in the north is giving traditional rulers serious concern.
He warned that, God will punish those behind insecurity in the north saying that it is God that chooses leaders and take away power from them.
He said: “Let me use this medium to commend the management of the Abuja based Blueprint Newspapers which had its maiden series and impacts awards by inviting me to be part of the occasion.
For recognizing me as one of those that can be part of such historic event is not just honour to me but to the entire Kaduna traditional institution.
