In Delta, kidnapped Catholic Priest regains freedom


A Catholic Priest, Rev father Jude Onyebadi, who was kidnapped by gunmen along Isele-Uku/Issele-Mkpetime road in Aniocha North local government area of Delta state has regained freedom. 
Rev. Fr Onyebadi who was kidnapped on Saturday at his pineaple farm is a resident priest at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Issele-Azagba community.  


The source said Fr. Onyebadi was freed by his abductors around 7:30pm on Tuesday. 
According to community source, “He was released on Tuesday evening and was immediately rushed to the hospital in Asaba for treatment.”
The source, however could not confirm if any ransom was paid to secure his release.
Meanwhile, two persons Mr Sunday Audu and Maduogo Okafor were reportedly kidnapped around 7pm on Monday.
Community source however, said they were also  kidnapped along Onicha-Olona-Issele-Mkpitime road.


“Maduoogo was kidnapped and in the process of taking him to their den, kidnappers  abducted Mr. Sunday in front of his house close to the road.
“The search launched by members of the vigilante, police and community youths is yet to yield result,” he said.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the released of the priest.


Also, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Onicha-Olona  divisional Police headquarter, SP Chidi Usuolor said he had mobilised his team alongside with the vigilantes into the bush in search for the victims and their abductors.
