The Minority Leader of the Imo state House of Assembly, Princewill Ugochukwu Amuchie, has harped on the importance of World Water Day.

In a chat with our correspondent, Amuchie who is in charge of this year’s celebration, said the importance of water in life is great and therefore calls for celebration.

He said people should be drinking water always “because it helps in preventing and curing diseases in the body and brings stability to the general well being of individuals.”

“Water helps in clearing seaways, used in keeping the environment clean, washing of items and contributes immensely in boosting agricultural production among other things.

“The governments at all levels should make pipe borne water accessible to citizens to avoid the proliferation of boreholes everywhere, adding that pipe borne water is certified clean and treated more than boreholes,” he said.
