Iheanacho set to join Super Eagles 

Recuperating injured Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to team up with the squad in Abidjan on Friday January 12, 2024, day before the kick-off of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Iheanacho was excused from the Dubai camping and the official send forth for the team which was hosted by Lagos state governor.

Iheanacho failed to link up with the team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates due to a muscular injury.

Head coach, Jose Peseiro revealed in an interview with NFF TV after his side’s friendly defeat to Guinea that the striker has fully recovered from the injury.
His Leicester City teammate, Wilfred Ndidi is already ruled out of the competition with injury.

Iheanacho is not expected to feature in Nigeria’s opening game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
OGC Nice forward, Terem Moffi a late replacement for Victor Boniface will link up with the team on Sunday.
