How upgraded API app now provides vast booking options, enhanced value for travelers – Safety travels

Amidst day-to-day cumbersome experience by many, especially Nigerian travelers who make effort to make bookings, an internationally known Safety Travel Agency has upgraded its App and website which now offers more affordable flight options.

This is after a Nigerian software wizard, Chidiebube J Nwogu, based in the United Kingdom dug deeper and created an API, and website, migrated the agency’s website and app from Amadeus server to the NASA deployed server host known as Cloudfare.

The ingenious outcome which has now delivered seamless technological touch, offers Nigerians access to cheaper flights and the opportunity to pay via their naira Mastercard or Visacard, without credit limit on forex.

In recent times, access to forex has become increasingly difficult due to differentials in top rated global currencies.
But with the updated Safety travels app, paying with naira without necessarily looking for other options now make life easy for travelers heading to any part of the World from Nigeria.

Giving more insight, the Managing Director of Safety travels, Mrs Uchenna Nwogu, said, “The updated website and app enhance global transactions in all G7 currencies and the naira, including enabling Nigerians purchase flight tickets at the CBN rate of N480 to a dollar. This is solely available for flight tickets originating from Nigeria. Users in other catchment areas gets to pay in other forex currencies.

“The update comes following the developer Chidiebube J Nwogu’s observation of challenges of the platform hosted on Amazon website which has issues catering to its west African customers, its dominant market. Nwogu proceeded to create an API, and website for the agency, and migrated the agency’s website and app from Amadeus server to the NASA deployed server host, Cloudfare.

“Airlines operate on the GDS system. In Nigeria, every agency and every airline operate 80 percent on the Amadeus system and Gallevios (the GDS points). What you see on BA is what you see on Amadeus. That is what every travel agency on IATA sees.

“When we kickstarted the app last year, we were using Permalex API. now, we have created our own API which even BA can buy from us, and which any bank selling API can integrate into it.”

She said the updated website is fully functional, and that the app is  accessible on Google Playstore and IOS App Store.

Working with most secure server host, Cloudfare, the agency assures its global users secure card payments as it’s passed the UK scrutiny and stringent acceptance process for Stripe Payment to become a global platform with a 95 per cent rating on Google page for speed, security and accessibility.

Other unique selling points of the app include provision of seat allocation, checking-in, and visa provision services. It will further enable users navigate COVID 19 procedures applicable to their intended destinations.

Many users who have continued to share their experiences, described the app as user-friendly; as they are able to book their flights, make their payments and get their tickets, relieving them of the hassle of varieties of travel flights prices at different rates, and hiked fares.

The General Manager of the agency Mr Agufuroye Joseph said already a formidable support system has been put in place for all to reach out in case of any complaint.

Safety travels based in Nigeria and United Kingdom, is an affiliate of Liet nuel which was incorporated in 1986 with late Chief Mrs Fanny Nwogu as the founding Chief Executive Officer.
