Hoodlums invade Anambra, bomb 2 police stations, kill, kidnap operatives

Some hoodlums, Thursday, allegedly invaded and burnt a police station Neni, Anaocha Local Government (LGA) headquarters of Anambra state.

According to sources, the hoodlums numbering about 30, stormed the area between 3 and 4am during which they equally whisked away a female police personnel and others at the Neni police station.

Blueprint gathered that a similar incident occurred at Awgbu police station in Orumba North LGA on Monday during which the hoodlums killed about two police officers, according to a viral video.

However, the Anambra State Police Public Relations officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, a Superintendent of police (SP), denied that the hoodlums whisked away any operative.

According to Ikenga, although the hoodlums attacked the police station with Improvised Explosive Devices, they did not take away any arms and were successfully subdued by the superior fire-power of the police operatives who engaged them, thereby forcing them to flee.

He added that that police operations were still ongoing in the area as at press time with a view to achieving more results.
