Gunmen invade Kano community, kill 2

The Kano state police command on Tuesday confirmed the killing of two persons by suspected gunmen who on Monday night attacked Bagwai village, Bagwai local government area of the state.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the development to newsmen Tuesday.

He said the gunmen stormed the area, shooting sporadically at persons by roadside shops, injuring three, of which two later died.

According to him, the Commissioner of Police, CP Habu Sani had also ordered deployment of his men from the Puff Adder team to the area for manhunt and possible arrest of the perpetrators of the crime.

He said, “Gunmen last night (Monday) attacked some roadside shops. They shot sporadically at three persons. They were taken to the Bichi General Hospital. Two later died.

“The commissioner of police, CP Habu Sani has ordered deployment of men from the Puff Adder team for possible arrest of the perpetrators,” DSP Haruna added.
