Group adopts Senator Orji for 2nd term

The people of Isiala Ngwa have assured Senator Theodore Orji of their support for second tenure in the senate because he handed over power to the zone that has not produced a governor since the creation of Abia state.
The people, who adopted Senator during the 4th Otawike Annual Conventional held at Ginger Amalagha, Amapu Ntigha, lauded the Senator for the courage he displayed in 2015 by ensuring that equity reigns supreme for the Ukwa Ngwa nation that had been then not produced a governor to do so through the incumbent Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
Otawike organization therefore honoured the former governor with award of “Equity Keeping Governor” given his role in ensuring that Ukwa Ngwa nation produced a governor.
Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, the chairman, Abia State Governing Board of Abia State University, Uturu, Chukwu Nwachukwu, the Guest Speaker and state Commissioner for Works, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, said Sen. Orji was so adopted for handing over to the Ukwa/Ngwa people the governorship mantle in line with the Abia Charter of Equity.
Responding, Orji said he decided to hand over power to the Ukwa/Ngwa people to ensure enduring peace in the governance of the state, while urging the distracters Governor Ikpeazu to join hands with him to move the state forward.
“Abia people made Ikpeazu governor and his governorship position is divine. He is an equity governor”, Orji said.
Speaking during the event, the state Governor Ikpeazu lauded Ginger Onwusibe and his wife, Ugochi, for recognizing his cry about the school, pointing out that the prayers of the children is showing on them.
“Ginger has done well, as when the grader he bought to grade the rural roads, the indigent women farmers in the area will be praying for him”.
Those Present at the endorsement of Senator Orji for another term in 2019 included: Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator Enyi Abaribe, Senator representing Abia South senatorial district, an Ngwa man from Obingwa, Hon Darlington Nwokocha, member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South in the House of Representatives, honourable members from the State House of Assembly, commissioners, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor, and son of former Deputy Governor.
