Sule to Obi: Politics over, support Tinubu to move Nigeria forward

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has appealed to Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general election to join hands with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to make Nigeria better.

Governor Sule made the appeal on Monday, while hosting Peter Obi, who paid him a courtesy visit in Lafia, the state capital.

Sule said time for politics was over and there was need for all well meaning Nigerians to close ranks and work for the development of the country.

“I know you have the experience, you have the competence and the capacity to support President Tinubu to be on the same page.

“So sir, I am calling on you to help in contributiing your own quota to support President Tinubu because the president needs all the supoort in order to get us on track.

“The country’s challenges cannot be resolved by only one person, hence the need for all to support in order to make the country great,” Sule said.

“I call on you and plead with you and all others who have high respect for you to come together and assist Mr. President. I truly believe Mr. President means well for Nigeria but he alone can not do it. He needs the support from everywhere that he can get in order for us to get to our destination qnd I believe by the grace of God we will get to that destination.”

Speaking, Mr Obi said he was in the state as part of his nationwide tour during the Ramadan to reach out the less privileged and decided to pay a courtesy visit to the governor.

“My tour of the nation in this period of Ramadan fast is to see how I can contribute in my own little way in the fasting process especially for those in the lower ranks. We are also doing some boreholes to provide water for the people,” he said.

Obi said he was desperate to see Nigeria work and not desperate to be President.

He therefore, commended governor Sule for executing some infrastructural projects especially roads.
