Foundations donate education materials to 100 Bauchi orphans


As schools reopened in Bauchi state last week, two Non Governmental Organizations in the state have donated education materials to 100 identified orphans at Sabon Kaura primary school, Bauchi.


The two NGOs namely; Child is Gold Foundation and Ikra Foundation made the donation Friday in the school.


Presenting the items to the beneficiaries at the primary school, the chairperson, Child is Gold Foundation, Barrister Elizabeth James said the gesture is part of activities of the foundations towards encouraging school age children, especially orphans and vulnerable that enrolled in schools. 


Elizabeth who was represented by the administration officer of the foundation, Mr Kuulwaamsu Esly Yohanna opined that most of the school dropout children in the state are orphans.


He said the two foundations deemed it necessary to assist the children to become good leaders of tommorow and better members of the society.


Mr Kuulwaamsu regretted that most parents of students of government schools are less privileged stressing that there is the need to assists them so that their children becomes educated.


They therefore called on other organizations to join hands with them to assist orphans and vulnerables to become better members of the society.


In her remarks, Miss Peace Yohanna of Ikra Foundation who admonished the pupils to always observe personal health habits also charged them to attend classes neatly and promptly.


Responding, the  Head Master of Sabon Kaura primary school, Malam Ali Abubakar applauded the two organizations for their efforts towards assisting orphans and vulnerable children and prayed Almighty to reward them abundantly.
