Foundation donates 1, 000 facemasks, sanitisers to Bauchi police

A non-governmental organisation, The CLEEN Foundation, on Friday donated at least 1, 350 facemasks and over 300 sanitisers to the acting Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi, Ali Kaigama, for distribution to his officers.

The Foundation’s Bauchi state coordinator, Iliya Mbami Sabka, said the gesture was part of its contributions in the fight against Covid-19.

“The CLEEN Foundation seeks to support the Nigerian Police Force in carrying out its duty to secure the lives and property of citizens, even during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“With support from the MacArthur Foundation, the CLEEN Foundation has donated 300 pieces of 250ml hand sanitisers, 1, 350 facemasks to all the 17 zonal police commands in Nigeria.

“The expectation is that the zonal police commands will distribute these items to the state police commands under each zone,” he said.

Apart from the sanitisers and masks, he said the foundation donated publications and IEC materials to enlighten the officers across all the state police commands on the present realities of administration of criminal justice in Nigeria.

Responding, Kaigama lauded the organisation for the gesture, saying they had been carrying zone 12 along in its activities.
