Ex-Zamfara lawmaker in court for N3m fraud

The Managing Director of Distribution of Reliance Office Solution Nig Ltd, Zamfara state, Aminu Shi’itu Mafara, has dragged a former member of the House of Representatives representing Zamfara state, Abdulmalik Zubairu Zanna, to court for breach of trust, cheating, and defrauding him N3 million.

Zanna was represented Maru and Bungudu Federal Constituency from 2015 to 2019 on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mafara made this known in an interview with Blueprint Weekend shortly after the first sitting of the case before the Upper Shari’a Court, Friday in Gusau.

According to the managing director, the former lawmaker had awarded contact for the supply of 200 units of HP Laptop in 2013 when he was President of NULGE in Zamfara state to his company, Reliance Office Solution Nig Ltd, to the tune of N27 million and disbursed the sum of N24 million.

He said despite all efforts to get Zanna to settle the outstanding balance of N3 million had failed, even as he accused the former lawmaker of diverting the money to the account of his personal company, Amisco Company Ltd.

However, the Presiding Judge Upper Shari’a Court, Alkali Hadi Sani, adjourned the case to 21 April, 2021, for ruling.
