Fintech revenue to hit $6bn in Africa  – Report

The emergence of Financial technology (Fintech) has impacted positively on the growth of African and Sub Sahara Africa as Fintech revenue hit between $4.5 billion and $6 billion.

The Financial Derivative Company (FDC) recent report for the month of November disclosed that  over 30 per cent of the population is adopting Fintech. 

This growth , it said facilitated and increased financial technology Investment in the region, adding that, several Fintech startups in Nigeria,  South Africa and Kenya are implementing frontier financial innovative ideas , this has resulted in great success so far.

Citing an example on the Fintech companies operations,it said that Jumia pay, Fluter wave, Google pay, Opay PAGA, in Pega, Momo and many more companies in Fintech leverage on series of factors such as expansion in network coverage, growth in smartphone users and fast urbanisation to grow.
