FCT ANCOPSS takes stock as president bows out


All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) branch, has witnessed monumental progress, its immediate President, Mallam Abdulkarim Abdulrahman, has said.
Abdulrahman, according to a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Information, Education Secretariat, Federal Capital Development Agency (FCDA, Kabiru Musa, in Abuja over the weekend, spoke at the confederation’s congress held recently in Abuja.


He said the association has over the years enhanced the attainment of good secondary education for the overall national development while leading a crop of professionals who are disciplined, committed and dedicated.
Unveiling his many achievements during his farewell address, he stated that,when he took over, the executive mapped out strategies in which issues in the education sector will be placed in the front burner above self interest.
He outlined his achievements to include opening of the temporary FCT ANCOPSS Secretariat for proper coordinator of its activities, purchase of an official vehicle,first in the history of the association, introduction and commencement of FCT ANCOPSS saving scheme.


“Our achievements include non-indebtedness both at the zonal and national levels, appointment of zonal coordinators to ensure spread across the zones for improved activities , effective distribution of Covid-19 kits to FCT Schools; production of FCT ANCOPSS sports wear and refurbishing of vehicle donated by NUT to FCT ANCOPSS with robust engagement with stakeholders to move education forward among others,” Abdulrahman said.


He, however, advised the new executive members of the association to continue to uphold the ethics of the profession.
The highlights of the well-attended congress was the election and swearing in of the new executive led by Malam Bello Adam Gupa Principal, Government Secondary School,Kuje who will pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
