Farouk assumes leadership at NAMA, harps on power generation

The new Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk has harped on the need to improve on infrastructure in the management of the country’s airspace and emphasized a renewed commitment to safety.

He noted that his administration will prioritizes communication and airspace stability just as he declared a state of emergency on power within the agency which he said is a proactive stance aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

He stated, “NAMA is no longer on trial; we are on course, and our commitment to excellence is resolute.”

Speaking while receiving a hand over note from his predecessor Engr. Tayib Odunowo, Farouk pledged a zero tolerance for air accidents affirming the strict adherence to global safety standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), prioritizing the safety and well-being of the flying public.

The NAMA helmsman underlined his dedication to maintaining industry-leading safety measures and urged collective responsibility saying his leadership envisions a future for NAMA marked by excellence and safety.

Engr. Farouk expresses gratitude to his predecessor for effectively tackling numerous challenges in the airspace and promise to continue the commendable work and emphasizes a focus on prioritizing the welfare of both active and retired staff at the agency.
