Ebonyi LG chair flags off 4km road construction

The chairman, Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state, Mr Henry Eze, Wednesday, flagged off a 4-kilometer concrete pavement road construction in Egedehede/Nkalaha community.

The road, according to Mr. Eze, would assist the natives of the area who are predominantly farmers in taking their farm produce to the market.

Mr. Eze while flagging off the road construction said it has for close to six years appeared in the constituency project of the Senate but no work was done.

“What we are doing is to compliment his effort. We are happy the project will start today, if you look at this BRC wire you will know that it has been packed here for a long time waiting for when we will have money to hire equipment which we have done. We also have 900 bags of cement packed for this work. The road construction will start today and we hope to complete it and the governor will come in.

“This community has a boundary with Benue state; it is about 10 kilometers from Benue state and the road under construction is 4km.

“This road will help farmers in the community, Ishielu local government area happens to be the highest farmers in the state, so the road will at least give them access to sell their farm products. It will also help them in building houses because the state of this road before now made it impossible for them to pass,” he said.
