Easter: Gombe gov urges Nigerians to pray for peace, stability

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has enjoined Christians to use the period of Easter celebration to pray for peace and stability in the country.

This was contained in a message on Saturday by Isma’ila Misili, the director-general, Press Affairs Government House, Gombe.

Yahaya, who underscored the significance of unity, brotherhood, and service to God and humanity during and beyond the Easter period, extended his heartfelt felicitation to Christian faithful.

According to him, Easter symbolises love, sacrifice, the triumph of good over evil, and urged the Christians to reflect on these core principles to integrate them into their daily lives.

“I extend warm congratulations to our Christian brethren for completing the Lent Season and celebrating Easter.

“We are grateful to the Almighty God for granting you the strength to go through this significant spiritual journey.

“May the blessings of this period rejuvenate our nation and steer us towards lasting peace, progress and prosperity,” he said.

While urging the people to find solace in the blessings of Easter and work towards sustainable peace and development, Yahaya enjoined religious leaders to promote peace, tolerance and unity among Nigerians. (NAN)
