Don’t abscond, Nasarawa gov warns intending Christian pilgrims


Nasarawa state governor Abdullahi Sule, Friday cautioned the 2019 intending Christian pilgrims, from the state, to holy land of Israel against abscondment, and to embrace decorum in all they do while in the holy land.


Sule who gave the warning in his farewell message while addressing the intending pilgrims in Lafia.


He said pilgrims from the state were known to exhibit exemplary conduct while on pilgrimage, and charged to continue exhibiting high standards and sterling character.


The governor urged them to be ambassadors of the state and to shun any act that is capable of tarnishing the image of the state.


He urged them to be humble character and reverence in their conduct as according to him, “You must have a humble character and be full of reverence in your approach to God in the holy land, going to Israel is a journey of spiritual renewal.


Sule asked them to pray for the state and the country ” We expect you to pray fervently for the peace and development of our dear state.


“It is our expectation that you will serve as respected citizens of Nasarawa state and Nigeria whom you represen” Sule said.

The chairman, Nasarawa state Christian pilgrims Welfare Board Rev. Markus Shamma, commended the governor for the opportunity given them to embark on pilgrimage to Rome.
