Donate sports equipment to school, Principal tells Philanthropists

The Principal of Government Secondary  School(GSS)Gwagwalada Mr. Kreki Bitrus has called on philanthropists to donate sporting facilities to the school with a view to enhancing students performance.

Bitrus made this know during the 24th annual inter-House competition held at school’s sports ground even as he tasked stakeholders to encourage teeming youth to engage in at least one sports of their choice.He reminded the gathering the role sports played in the area of reducing high  rate of unemployment of over the World just as told invited guest  that school’s athletes would showcase amazing talent.

The Principal mentioned some challenges of the school to include lack of perimeter fence, inadequate teaching staff, inadequate security men and cooks, no pipe- borne water and lack of good transformer amongst others.

The educationist also said that the school had recorded successes in the area of both academic and extra- curricular activities, noting that aside winning many laurels graduates of the school won scholarship to study overseas.

Contributing, the FCT director of Secondary Education Board, SEB, Mrs. Nanre Emeje while commissioning a school bus donated by PTA tasked final year students to work hard and come out with good results in  their forth coming WAEC and NECO examination.

Meanwhile, Katampe House emerged the overall winner, Lower Usman House came second while Zuma House took third position.
