CSOs laud TAJ Bank on National Bank license 

 

A Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice, Wednesday, congratulated the board and management of TAJ Bank on its acquisition of National Bank license from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

A statement made available to journalists in Abuja by the national coordinator, Comrade James Okoronkwo, said the group also lauded TAJ Bank board and management for recently launching her N100 billion private sector SUKUK offering, addressing the perennial problem of paucity of funds to finance economic viable projects.

The group also poured encomiums on the Hamid Joda – led management for bringing human face to banking in Nigeria through her non-interest banking products and services.

The group said the step taken has boosted the customer-base of the infant bank, adding that with this feat, millions of potential customers across Nigeria  will benefit  from TAJ Bank ‘s numerous banking products tailored to boost the  national economy.

The group also commended the Governor of the Central Bank,  Dr Godwin Emefiele, for his sagacity and patriotism in granting the National Banking license to TAJ Bank.

It noted that it is well- deserved going by the bank’s impressive track-record.

The group urged the board and management of TAJ Bank to continue to support CBN’s numerous agricultural lending programmes, which has made Nigeria a major exporter of rice.

It recalled that before the advent of the President Mudammadu Buhari administration, Nigeria was a major importer of rice which consumed scarce foreign exchange.
