Fresh crisis is ravaging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone of Kaduna state over Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero’s 2015 ambition.
Blueprint has gathered that close associates of late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa and other prominent sons and daughters of the area were opposed to the support declared for Yero by elected and appointees from Southern Kaduna.
The core associates of late Governor Yakowa led by his Chief of Staff, Elder Abokie Galadima had, therefore, commenced moves to scuttle election bid of Yero in Southern Kaduna and had been carrying out consultations against Yero’s endorsement.
A source confirmed that the Abokie Galadima-led group had been going round holding strategic meetings, explaining the implications of Yero’s endorsement and getting acceptability.
When our reporter reached Galadima yesterday, he confirmed that they were dissatisfied with the endorsement and that genuine people of their area had lost confidence in Yero.
He said: “We are against his endorsement. He has no interest in our area, the actual truth is, and he has abandoned all the projects started by the late governor. Have you ever seen where people surrendered power without purposeful basis and bearing in mind of their collective interests and survival?
“He has taken all loans to continue projects in Zaria zone and to initiate other ones, what has he done to our area? There is nothing in our area and it is now issue of trust. If there is no Southern Kaduna there is no PDP in Kaduna state, and if it is those that verbally endorsed him that owned Southern Kaduna people, we will see because it is matter of time.”
