Council boss binds directors with Bible

Newly sworn-in chairman of Kanke local government council in Plateau state, Hon. John Ishaku Gatau, has used the Bible to bind directors and heads of departments of the council in a commitment to transparency and sincerity in their official engagements.

In what was interpreted as a spiritual commitment to governance and service delivery, the new chairman shocked the jubilant crowd when he called out the sectional officers of the council and presented each with a copy of the Holy Bible, and charged them to show uncommon openness and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

Gatau assured the management and staff of the council of the determination of his administration to lift the fortunes of Kanke local government area to greater heights, as well as being fair to all and sundry in the bid to realise the collective aspirations and dream of the area.

Addressing the management and staff of the council preparatory to the handover ceremony, the outgone sole administrator of the council, Emmanuel Gogwim, commended the entire staff for the support and cooperation they extended to him during his five-month tenure, and urged them to do same to the new executive chairman whom he described as a man with a burning passion to serve the people of Kanke.
