Corruption:Pinnick, Dikko to appear in court Thursday

Embattled President of Nigeria Football Federation and four  others officials of the federation will appear at the Federal High Court, Abuja on a 17-count charge for corruption.

NFF president Amaju Pinnick, vice presidents Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, executive committee member Ahmed Yusuf Fresh and general secretary Mohammed Sanusi are due to appear Thursday  The same officials are also being investigated by both the EFCC and ICPC on various other allegations.

In a 17-count charge, marked, FHC/ABJ/CR/93/2019, filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the money is said to have been paid by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to the NFF as appearance fees in the group stage of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Pinnick’s alleged accomplices in the charge are, Dr.Sanusi Mohammed, NFF General Secretary; Seyi Akinwumi, the 2nd Vice-President, Shehu Dikko and Ahmed Yusuff Fresh, an executive member, 

The defendants are also accused of “moving dishonestly and intentionally the sum of about N4billion” belonging to the NFF without the consent of the NFF.

Also included in the charges filed against the NFF officials by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), led by Okoi Obono-Obla is the failure to declare their assests.
