Coalition forms think-tank to address political anomaly

A group, the Coalition for Good Governance in Nigeria (COGGING) has formed a think-tank that would help address the political anomaly in the country.

The coalition is made up 15 groups across various sectors in the country with its base in Abuja.
According to its Coordinator-General, Hon. Abdulmajeed B. Sa’ad of the coalition, the think-tank would bring broad-base intellectuals from all geo-political zones of the country on the platforms.

The Coordinator-General explained that the group would mediate, reconcile and negotiate with key stakeholders on effective strategies to ensure peace, unity, equity, fairness and justice among democratic institutions and intend to create synergy with critical stakeholders in building capacity of prospective leaders.

The coalition is also aimed at promoting good governance, responsible leadership in both public and private sectors of our nation.

He said the group is apolitical and look critically on the issues of the Nigeria project towards the 2023 elections.

The Coordinator-General also announced the composition of the 25-member think-tank committee under the chairmanship of Professor Joseph Alikeli that will soon be inaugurated.

According to him, all Nigerians must not be left aloof and must be carried along in the political arrangements in the country.

Among the immediate attention of the coalition is to address the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket especially of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of aggrieved sections of the country and other issues that effect good governance in other parties.

The members of the committee are Engineer Habila Gaiya, former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, Hon. Muhammed Tahir, Publisher, Apex News Exclusive, Anthony Maliki, a former female Deputy Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Prince Ola Olayinde Olatunji, Alhaji Ali G. Pasali and Hon. Ayo Thomas.

Other are Evangelist Kingsley Onu, Mr. Arome Sani, Malam Alhassan Bamali, Mr. Shola Oni and Hajiya Zainab Mustapha.
