…Civil Defence deploys 40, 000

Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has ordered the deployment of 40,000 personnel for the Easter celebrations across the nation. Th e statement charged the personnel to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure within their localities against vandals and enemies of the nation. It also quoted the commandant-general while felicitating with the Christian faithful, urged them to live exemplary life preached by Christ “who sacrifi ce himself for the sin of all and sundry.” Gana, however, directed the zonal commanders and state commandants to ensure effi cient deployment of their personnel to all nooks and crannies for eff ective policing of lives and property against any form of attack. He urged personnel to work in synergy with other sister agencies saying the corps will not tolerate any form of sabotage and crisis between the NSCDC personnel and other sister agency over issues that could be avoided
