Enyimba International of Aba and Kano Pillars, Nigeria’s representatives in this year’s CAF Champions League have been notified of the officials that will handle their preliminary matches in the competition.
Unlike Al Ahly, El Hilal of Sudan, EST of Tunisia, T. P. Mazembe of Congo. Club Sportif Sfaxien of Tunisia and Cotton Sport of Cameroun who have been drawn bye, Enyimba’s long absence from the continental scene sees them kicking off from the preliminaries this weekend at home to the Angels of Notse from Togo.
The centre referee Bienvenue Sinko from Cote D’Ivoire will be assisted by compatriots Songuifo Yeo, Pelako Toure and Kouame N’Dri.
The match commissioner is Mahamat Abdoulaye Abdoulaye of Tchad.
In the return leg, Enyimba will play with referees from Senegal led by Falou Galasse Kane with Beninoise Match Commissioner Augustin Ahouanvoebla.
Kano Pillars are on their way to the Democratic Republic of Congo where they will be hosted at the brand new Tata Raphael Stadium in Kinshasha by Association Sportive Vita Club. The match referees from Central Africa are Jean Marie Koyakobo, Balezou Fabrice, Oscar Vujovic Serengapou and Jean Marc Ganamandji. The commissioner is Ghana’s W. K. Aggra.
A Ghanaian match commissioner, Alex Asante, will also be in charge for the return leg, but this time with referees from Niger. Lalidia Souleymane will be assisted by Moussa Abdoulaye and Maman Mlan Ousseini while Abdou-aziz Hama will be the fourth official.
Meanwhile, Warri Wolves and Bayelsa United are two of the 10 teams that have drawn bye in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Others are Asec Mimosas of Cote D’.Ivoire, Ismaily of Egypt, Djoliba of Bamako, El Ahly Shandy of Sudan, Zesco United of Zambia, MAS Fes of Morocco, CA Bizertin and Etoile Sortive du Sahel of Tunisia.
