Buni urges monarchs to support government on vaccination campaign

Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, has called on traditional rulers, religious and options leaders to support government by ensuring that all eligible children, pregnant mothers and others receive vaccination doses.

Governor Buni made the call Monday at a one-day engagement meeting on primary healthcare services attended by emirs and mais, religious leaders, developmental partners and civil society organizations (CSOs).

The meeting was organised by Yobe state Ministry of Health and Human Services in collaboration with the state’s Primary Healthcare Management Board (YSPHCMB) at the WAWA Hall, Government House, Damaturu.

Governor Buni said Yobe state government under his watch would continue to accord the primary healthcare sector attention to improve productivity and wealth creation.

He stated that the primary healthcare services is the entry point and foundation to general health care services which must be given the desired attention.

He said: “It is in the realisation of this that our administration has decided to establish at least one functional primary healthcare facility in the 178 political wards across the state.”
