BUA donates N275m cement, others to Sokoto host communities 


The BUA Cement Company, as part of its corporate social responsibility, donated 170 tonnes of cement to its 68 host communities in Wamakko local government of Sokoto state.


Similarly, the company also donated primary school, clinic, cemetery, mosque, road network to the Gidan Boka new settlement in Wamakko local government of Sokoto state.


Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the managing director and chief executive officer of BUA, Alhaji Yusuf Binji, said the gesture was meant to provide succour to the people of the communities.

Binji, who was represented by the director, Human Resources, Alhaji Altine Wali, stated that the event was an annual occasion to donate to its host communities.


He further stated that the gesture would enable the benefiting
communities and individuals to rehabilitate cemetery, town hall square and private buildings.


He said with the cost of building materials, the company deemed it fit to provide the materials for them to carry out rehabilitation.
Binji reiterated the BUA cement commitment to support its host
communities through infrastructural development.


He stated that the facilities at Gidan Boka and 170 tones donated cost about N 275 million.


He said: “What you are witnessing today is that we are giving back what the communities have given to us.”


Earlier the executive chairman of Wamakko local government, Mr. Bello Haliru Gwiwa, who was represented by the vice chairman,Alhaji Garba Mohammed Dundaye, thanked the BUA for its kind gesture and urged other companies in the state to emulate it.


Also speaking, the district head of Wajake, Alhaji Mamman Mailato, thanked BUA saying the items would go a long way in ameliorating the plight of the people.


He promised that the items would be judiciously used by the beneficiaries.
