BRICC winds up in Yobe, lauds 3-year programme

Building Resilience in Complex Crises (BRICC) Tuesday held close out and dissemination meeting in Damaturu as part of activities to end its three-year programme in Yobe state.

Speaking at the close out programme and dissemination meeting, Programme Manager, Paul Enude, said BRICC is a three-year European Union (EU) funded programme implemented by Mercy Corps Nigeria, Cooperazione Internationale (COOPI) and Danish Refugees Council in Yobe state.

Enude stated that the programme aimed to achieve strategic objectives that vulnerable and conflict affected communities secure their immediate recovery needs, improve  savings and have improved access to basic health, WASH, and nutrition services.

“Also vulnerable and affected communities have restored and improved livelihoods that are more resilient to conflicts and ecological shocks and stresses,” he added.

He noted that the programme was carried-out in Gwange, Pompomari, NayiNawa, Gabai, Kalallawa and Damakusu  communities of Damaturu local government area.

Others are; DogoTebo,Yarimaram,Hausawa Asibiti,Mamudo and Bari- Bari communities of Potiskum local government area respectively.

He further stated that out of 100 percent, “BRICC was able to achieved 95 percent of its three year programme in Yobe state.”

Resilience and Conflict Mitigation Advisor, Musa Abubakar, stated that the programme is closing out while other component remains active.
