Bauchi: Waziri gives out 2 daughters in marriage, urges national unity

Emir’s palace and Central Mosque Bauchi were on December 18, 2022,  held hostage when a popular politician,  Dr Ibrahim Waziri Ningi, gave out two of his daughters, Zainab (Walida) and Fiddausi Waziri, in marriage in Bauchi.

Dr Waziri, a former Special Adviser on Economic Development to former Governor Isah Yuguda and Chairman Board of Media Dialogue Communication Limited, while speaking to newsmen said the only way Nigerians could live together as one nation is to build bridges across the different ethnic and geographical zones in the country through marriage and social engagements.

He said as a true Moslem, he believed the Holy Quran has set the standard for marriage, one of which is love based on equity and trust, saying as he does not believe in discrimination against tribes and religion.

The frontline politician called on Nigerians to allow peace and tranquility reign by preaching the message of love and unity among the youth for continued peace and unity among ethnic and religious groups in the country.

Asked how he felt to be given out his daughters at marriage time when inflation is at its peak and Dr Waziri called for trust in God and spirit of contentment, noting that the present economic situation in the country called for austere living s against ostentation.

The wedding Fatiha was attended by personalities across the state and beyond.
