Aviation college seeks collaboration with Surveyor General

Surveyor General of the Federation (SGOF), Ebisintei B. Awudu, has said that the collaboration between his office and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaira, is coming up at the right time.

The Surveyor General who said this when NCAT team paid him a visit, described the quest for collaboration as a bold step, affirming that both the OSGOF and the college have always enjoy good working relationship.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary and Head of Public Relations Unit of the Surveyor General office, Mrs. G.A.O. Okeke, said Auwudu expressed appreciation that NCAT has also assisted in manpower development by giving training to some of their personnel.

Awudu, who also expressed confidence in his office’s capacity to meet the nation’s geo-spatial needs, told the NCAT officials to consider the visibility problems in aviation industry as being over.

The statement quoted Auwudu as saying that “my office is a data centre with high capacity to transmit all over the country”, adding that the office was already collaborating with the armed forces and other security agencies in the country.

The Surveyor General also said that his office was ready to collaborate with more agencies.

Earlier, the Team Leader and Rector of college, Captain Abdul-Salami Mohammed, said that they were at OSGOF to seek for further collaboration on NIG-VFR (Visual Flight Rules).

Mohammed also said that they were willing to seek collaboration with OSGOF in the provision of maps that would facilitate the Aerological Chart, which serves as a roadmap on air to guide pilots during flight operations.

According to the Team Leader, the chart was so important as it would enhance navigation to locate landmarks such as rail lines, obstruction, telecommunication mast and restricted areas.

Mohammed thanked the management for immense experience they displayed in the lecture given to him and his team on the chart.

The NCAT team also gave the Surveyor General an award of excellence.
