Army promotes 6,199, a commendable initiative

Th e news, days ago that the Nigerian Army has promoted 6,199 Boko-Haram-fi ghting soldiers, is a commendable, and laudable initiative in the right direction by the authorities of the Nigerian Army. Th is said promotion exercise will do quite some things for the men battling insurgency, and terrorism in the North-East. One, it will boost the morale of the fi ghting soldiers. Two, It will strengthen their honor.

Th en, also, it is a just reward for the numerous number of uniformed military men that are risking their lives at the ‘troubled spot’ in Nigeria, while civilian citizens move about in peace. A particular portion of the Nigerian National anthem states:”….the labor of our heroes past, shall never be in vain……” For all of our uniformed citizens in the military that have been battling insurgency, and terrorism in the NorthEast, for many years now; their labor of love, altruism, and patriotism, shall never be in vain.

Other than this said promotion exercise in discuss, which has brought about the elevation of 6,199 Boko-Haram fi ghting Nigerian soldiers; it is my appeal and prayer that the Nigerian Army, and indeed the federal Government, will fi nd another way of appropriately rewarding the men-and womenwho have been experiencing “the baptism of fire” at the battle zone in the buff eted, North Eastern parts of Nigeria.

As a concerned citizen, it is also my wish that the military will eventually overcome the lingering terrorism in the Nation called, “Boko-Haram” !! it is my earnest desire also that whatever happens in this beloved country of ours; evil will never be so overwhelming in magnitude, such that it will prevail over the forces of good !!
