Amnesty condemns Cameroon suicide attack

Amnesty International regional director for West and Central Africa,  Alioune Tine, has described the recent attack by Boko Haram in Northern Cameroon as “horrific”.
Tine said the latest attack by Boko Haram against civilians demonstrated once more the insurgents total disregard for human life.

“It illustrates the threat posed by Boko Haram in the Far North of Cameroon and across the Lake Chad region,” he said.
Ten people were killed and about 50 people wounded following two suicide bombings carried out by Boko Haram in northern Cameroon.
Governor of Cameroon’s Far North region, Midjiyawa Bakary, said the attack was carried out by two teenage suicide bombers in the town of Limani,
He said they hit a video club and a mosque near Cameroon’s border with Nigeria.
Following the incidence Cameroon said it would deploy more troops to its far northern border with Nigeria.
