Alvan Ikoku varsity matriculates last batch of UNN affiliated students 

Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education now Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, has matriculated over 1,500 students that would continue with the educational programmes  currently run in affiliation with the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

In her speech during the matriculation ceremony weekend, the acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin), Prof. Stella Ngozi Lemchi stated that Alvan had collaborated with UNN to admit and produce Bachelor of Education graduates but with its upgrade to University of Education, the institution would be doing  it on her own by matriculating the first batch of University of Education students next year.

She made it clear that Alvan would continue to collaborate with UNN until all UNN students completed their studies and afterwards engage with them in areas of research, development and cross-pollination of ideas.

While congratulating the fresher’s for making it to the institution, she stated that over the last 60  years, the institution had produced great teachers and head teachers, principals, lecturers, professors, business people, clergy and politicians and contributing to the development to the nation.
