Mr. Suleman Mafara has assumed duty as the commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Akwa Ibom state.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Friday Ekerete, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Uyo, Friday.
The statement noted that Mafara, who took over from Mr. Abidemi Majekodunmi, was the commandant of NSCDC Kogi command.
The statement said while addressing officers of the command, he tasked them on productivity and performance for the ultimate result.
The statement reads: “Akwa Ibom state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has received a new state commandant. He is CC Mafara.
“He took over the reins of the command from Comdt Abidemi Makekodunmi who has been redeployed to NSCDC national headquarters, Abuja.
“The official handover of the command took place Wednesday, July 6 at the state command headquarters, Uyo.”
