Africa women conference holds in Abuja June 8-11

The much anticipated Africa Regional Council of Women Conference earlier slated to hold in Nigeria from April 20 to 24 has been postponed to June 8 to 11, 2021 in the country’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

A press statement by President, Africa Regional Council of Women, Dr Gloria Shoda Wednesday, said the conference was shifted owing to the need to adhere to protocols, public health and clinical issues associated with the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Shoda, who is also President of  National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) whose umbrella organisation is organising the continental confab, said “the conference will attract African First Ladies, heads of government and parastatals, gender equality advocates, related international stakeholders, First Ladies of Nigeria’s 36 states, wives of local government chairmen, technocrats, among others.”

It will also feature exhibitions and Awards to deserving personalities all over the continent.

She assured all delegates of a memorable experience which will engender, as reflected in the conference theme, a new awakening for the African woman.
