8 Osun Reps reaffirm loyalty to PDP, Gov Adeleke

Eight members of theOsun Caucus of the House of Representatives have reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The lawmakers who were of the nine members of the House from the state declared the reaffirmation in the wake of a statement credited to Oluwole Oke on his recent decision to resign his membership of the PDP, fuelling speculations that some members of the caucus were planning to join him in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement on Friday, signed by the eight lawmakers, they said Oke’s defection had been long predicted due to his open and consistent display of disloyalty, disrespect and media attack against the party at all levels and against the government of Governor Adeleke.

“The defection of our colleague, Hon. Wole Oke, is a personal decision that holds no bearing on the stability or cohesion of the PDP in Osun. The remaining eight members of the caucus remain fully committed to the ideals and leadership of the party,” the statement partly read.

The eight members were: Bamidele Salam; Ajilesoro Abimbola Taofeek; Mudashiru Lukman Alani; Akanni Clement Ademola; Omirin Emmanuel Olusanya; Adewale Moruf Adebayo; Adetunji Abidemi Olusoji, and Oladebo Lanre Omoleye.
